3rd Annual Science and Technology Enrichment Program (STEP)
Students who have completed grades 8-12
Engaging activities focused on the National Science Foundation-funded CREST center’s research and education mission in engineering, biological science, physics, chemistry and computational science will include hands-on activities, projects, lectures, discussions, campus tours, lab tours, trainings, research activities and interactions with scientists and engineers. In addition, students will gain knowledge of what college is like and how to prepare for college. The sessions will enrich students’ understanding of the opportunities abundant in STEM fields, as well as the capacity of STEM to positively impact society.

CREST Science and Computing Research Summer Program
Students who have completed grades 8-12
In this session, participants will engage in computer-driven science research-oriented activities in a group setting, led by faculty and scientists in the National Science Foundation-funded CREST center at UC Merced, which focuses on engineering, biological science, physics, chemistry and computational science. Hands-on research-based activities, projects, lectures, interactions with scientists and engineers and lab tours will enable students to get a better understanding of what it is like to do science research and what it is like to be a scientist. Through these activities, students will get a glimpse into the importance of research computing that connects all aspects of scientific research.

CREST STEM Camp
Students who have completed grades 3-4
Engineering, biological science, physics, chemistry and computational science are the focus of the National Science Foundation-funded CREST center’s research and education mission. In this camp, students will actively participate in stimulating hands-on activities and projects, lectures, discussions, campus tours, lab tours and interactions with scientists and engineers. This summer camp will increase students’ exposure to stimulating STEM topics, the practice of STEM and how STEM benefits society.
